about

An Army Of Marmots was founded in 2010 by Denys Adrian Lemire. It has now been a decade since the beginning, and I wanted to do a release celebrating a decade of adventure. Thank you to everyone who has supported this project over the years. This album called "Farewell Tapes" is a special collection of 8 very meaningful tracks.

"Chiutatal" (track # 3) is dedicated to Maria. Chiutatal means "Moon". I hope you have found peace my dear friend, always in my heart.

"Pint and the Pines" (track #1) goes out to Rob & Tyler C., Justin P., Darrell C. and Joey W.

"Beyond the Wall of Sleep" is dedicated to my old friend Shadow (a manx cat). I loved that cat, my sweet little friend in Peebles.

The album artwork pays homage to my 2010 debut "When Big Grey Animals Sleep, What Do They Dream?" It is the original An Army Of Marmots artwork.

The album is free to download but you have the option to pay any amount if you wish to support the artist, I'm happy to share music with you but any support is greatly appreciated, I will try and thank you personally if you purchase it.

So let it be, bless my beard! Marmota Army! "Death! Ride to ruin and the world's ending! Death!"

- Denys Adrian Lemire (An Army Of Marmots)

*This was originally released back on April 18th, 2020 under "Farewell (2010 - 2020)", it had been updated with an album title/cover change on Oct. 1st to "Farewell Tapes". The tracklisting has not be altered. This update was for personal reasons of An Army Of Marmots. I kept the original release date the same and notified anyone who purchased it about the update. It was possibly going to be the last An Army Of Marmots release, but that is not the case as another album was released on 12/12/2020.*
